- WEEK 7 RECAP -

Week 7 is done and we had some interesting games again. We will not spend too much time dissecting it as there is a power rankings write up we are working on. But let's point out the POTG (player of the game) and any other important tidbits. The playoff race is sure to be tight down the stretch.

CLIPPERS vs RAPTORS:  That is right. No name gets crossed out for the first time since season 1. That is how long it has been since we had an actual tie. Raps had a chance to win it in regulation and then also in overtime but no dice. They asked us to go to double overtime and we politely declined as these are the rules. "It's just another minute..." , no son it is not just another minute and what happens if you are still tied?!? A 1v1 battle...a 3pt point shootout? rock paper scissors? nah, we will just have to take the tie and move on. Could it hurt one of the teams in the end? maybe. But a loss would have been worse. I am a half glass full kinda guy.

Final Score: Clippers 46 - 46 Raptors                      Player of the Game - SUGEE MEENADCHISUNDARALINKAM 11pts/12rebs/5asts/3stls/1blk - 71% Shooting
                                                                                                                         NILOSAN KRISHNAMOORTHY 8pts/5rebs/2asts/1stl/1blk/1to - 2 Triples

SPURS vs LAKERS:  The Lakers are just not ready to do what it takes to win. They got some nice pieces but not enough shot making, not enough defence and not enough chemistry. Spurs just keep on rolling. 4 guys with at least 12 points and they still missing a couple key contributors. Scary.

Final Score: Spurs 55 - 40 Lakers                      Player of the Game - VMAN VINAY 12pts/6rebs/8asts/1stl/1to - 55.5% Shooting

BOBCATS vs HEAT:  The battle of giants. The Orange giants however were too dominant and absolutely slapped up the Heat in the first half. 45 to 22 pretty much sealed it and the rest was just formality. 4 guys in double figures for the Bobcats including a dominant performance from Christian. If he is hitting his 3 balls then it is going to be a long night. Kareem was too strong for Markshun and the rest of the gang all did their part to show why they are the team to beat this season.

Final Score: Bobcats 71 - 51 Heat                    Player of the Game -    CHRISTIAN CASIMIER 25pts/9rebs/3asts/2blks- 4 Triples

PISTONS vs WOLVES:  The Pistons win another and have won 3 in a row. Kendell balled out in this one with a game high 22 and knowing these guys have a weapon like that who can go off at anytime is huge. Wolves were undermanned and took another loss. Not sure what the deal is with their committment or injury issues but hopefully a bye week or 2 sets them straight for a final push.

Final Score: Pistons 72 - 55 Wolves                    Player of the Game -    KENDELL WILSON  22pts/3rebs/5asts/1stl/0to- 57% Shooting - 3 Triples

JAZZ vs ROCKETS:  The Jazz stun the Rockets with a incredible overtime win. Tristan Quarry gets fouled in the late stages and nails all 3 freethrows to tie and send the game to overtime. Ice in his veins for sure especially for a big to be that nice at the line is huge for any team. Everyone on the team came through big with a team effort. GM Brett drawing up plays and playing solid defence. Jovan doing a little bit of everything with a near triple double 9/9/10asts (also had 2stls and a block to boot). Andre Anderson with a team high 14 and the Jazz who were scrambling before the game to get enough guys to suit up...somehow pull this off and make a gigantic statement to the league. Roshane was trying to put his team on his back with a game high 33 but the Jazz made him work for it as he took 33 shots. Ayam nearly had a chance to win it with a three pointer in overtime but it was not meant to be.

Final Score: Jazz 65 - 61 Rockets                    Player of the Game -   DEVAUGH DOBSON  13pts/14rebs/2asts/1stl/1blk- 60% Shooting

BULLS vs BLAZERS:  The Bulls were too much for the young Blazers. 2 teams going in opposite directions. Definitely not an entertaining game to say the least.

Final Score: Bulls 60 - 44 Blazers                    Player of the Game -    VIJI GANESHALINGAM  10pts/15rebs/4asts - 2 Triples

KINGS vs GRIZZLIES:  The Kings get a nice victory over the Grizz who were shorthanded. Kings are still looking to slowly ramp up and this was a step in the right direction.

Final Score: Kings 50 - 43 Grizzlies                    Player of the Game -    ARUN VASANTHAKUMAR  13pts/3rebs/2asts/1to - 54.5%

SUNS vs THUNDER:  The Suns get a big win over the Thunder. Jesse Smith had his best game of his young ETBL career and could not miss in this one. Him and Dakoda drop 22 each and they were a big reason why they were able to hold onto this victory. Thunder have been competitive in all 3 games but they have yet to get a win.

Final Score: Suns 57 - 53 Thunder                    Player of the Game -    JESSE WILLIAMS  22pts/1reb/3asts/0to - 82% - 3 Triples

WARRIORS vs SONICS:  The Warriors are piling up the wins and have reeled off 3 in a row. Good team effort and everyone did something to get the job done even if it wasn't pretty. Offence was kinda stuck and not flowing but the Sonics were even worse on that end and they really miss Zoobee who was another creator for them. They will match up against the Nets this weekend and they will really need to find a way to pull that off in order to push for the playoffs. The Warriors will get the Heat in what should be a nice challenge for the yellow squad.

Final Score: Warriors 49 - 39 Sonics                    Player of the Game -    WILBERT DEVENDRAN 6pts/2rebs/1to - 66%Shooting - 2 Triples

HORNETS vs BUCKS:  The Hornets did it. They finally f*ckin did it. Closed off a game and held on for the victory. It was ugly as hell in the last 2 minutes with turnovers everywhere and bad shot selections. Brandan hit a big time triple somewhere in there to really give the Hornets a chance to pull it out. Now we go for 2 victories on Sunday. The Bucks meanwhile just could not play with any type of composure in the end. They were playing hot potato with the ball and just no real ball IQ especially down the stretch. They could benefit from having a coach on the sidelines...extra practice...extra scouting (come help at the tables and I will give up all the secrets lol).

Final Score: Hornets 58 - 53 Bucks                    Player of the Game -    AKSHAY VAISHISHTHA 15pts/15rebs/1blk - 50% Shooting
