- WEEK 7 PREDICTIONS -
WRITTEN BY: STEPHEN A. KELLERMAN
Happy New Year fellas! 2023 is my time to shine. I went 3-3 on my last prediction blog to bring the total to 17-10 which is decent but I expect more out of me. I have relied upon some footage on ETBL2K youtube page which has helped me determine some of the weaknesses of certain teams. Should be an exciting start to the 2nd half of the season so let's get to work.
3PM PACERS VS LAKERS – (PACERS + 3)
This is a tough one. Lakers got athleticism, strength and solid 2 way players. But the Pacers got some of that too and the difference might come down to organization and chemistry which should make the difference in this one. They also got the edge in 3pt shooting and that is why I ultimately have them winning by...3. Lakers need to show me that they can beat a legit team. I am still waiting.
4PM BUCKS VS THUNDER – (THUNDER + 13)
Who will take their first loss? Well that is an easy one. The Thunder aren't playing any reindeer games and they will show the Bucks why there are levels to this. Yes, the Bucks have been the suprise of the league so far but the length and shooting of the Thunder is gonna cause a bunch of problems for them. The Buck stops here.
4PM BOBCATS VS ROCKETS – (BOBCATS + 6)
The Cats have been off this season but they have been shorthanded quite a bit. GM Omar looks to have solved that issue by replacing one of his starters for CJ (Christian Casimier) who returns home to defend the title. The commish tells me it is confirmed and now the Bobcats can make their 2nd half run with pretty much the same squad plus Arens. Scary news for the rest of the league. Rockets won't go down easy and I expect them to make this a competitive one.
5PM HAWKS VS MAGIC – (MAGIC + 5)
Who will get their first win of the season? I mean the way they have been playing...they could somehow both take an L. I am kidding of course but this is the game that can get both teams back into the playoff hunt so there will be a lot of pressure in this one. I do expect the Magic to take care of business as they do have the more potent offensive team. Yanick, Omar, and Frankie all have to step up in this one to get their team the dub.
5PM RAPTORS VS SIXERS – (RAPTORS + 3)
Raps have had a weird season. Beat the defending champs, lose to one of the worst teams thus far, and completely not show up for another game to take the forfeit. I think they are closer to being in the contender convo than they are not. So this will be their chance to make a statement against a solid Sixers team. They gotta keep Mayo under control or keep Kareem grounded. Those two are incredibly tough but the Raps have the defenders to throw at them which is why I am takin them in a close one.
6PM CAVALIERS VS KINGS – (CAVALIERS+ 7)
Will this be the debut of Michael Mines? If so then the Cavs become extremely dangerous and their push towards a higher seed begins sunday. The young guys can just play their roles and this team will be extremely effective. They are still small overall and that will hurt them eventually but not in this game. Kings need to dig deep and make a statement before the wheels start falling off.
